A Greek connection

In the summer Acanthus shoots up tall flower spikes and then its glossy green leaves die off for the season. Apparently the Acanthus leaf motif was very important in ancient Greek design.

Reflection:
Galatians 3:28 (New International Version)
"There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus."

  1. I get the impression that your garden was planted quite a while ago: many of the plants I recall from my grandmother's garden in Hornsby. Was this not only a favourite for Greek vases but also for Roman head gear?
