It's Autumn

The Belladonna lilies are trumpeting -- it's Autumn today!

We have been beginning to feel its arrival for the past couple of weeks. Each year at this time of year the beautiful fragrance of the Belladonna and Ginger Lilies on the morning air tell me Autumn is on its way.

Genesis 1:14 (New International Version)

  1. The only crook season in the Blue Mountains is summer, isn't it?

  2. Depends on your viewpoint. Summer is the tourist off season which makes life great (provided you are not running a tourist resort). We can drive around on Sundays without having to plan our way around the highway 'parking lot' that occurs on Sunday afternoons the rest of the year.

Interestingly at the turn of the 20th century the Blue Mountains peak tourist season was summer when people escaped the heat of the city. That was before the beach became our summer playground.

Please note the use of 20th century :-) I and others out on the web think "turn of the last century" means 1900 but I wouldn't want to start a debate on it!
