More fruit

While I am on the subject of autumn fruits I thought I would show you a few more fruits from around the garden. These are from the walnut. Unfortunately they don't deliver on their promise. The climate here doesn't seem to be right for them as they mould on the tree instead of ripening and dropping from their pods the way they should.

Reflection:
Galatians 5:22-23 (New International Version)
"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law."

  1. Any chance you could keep in mind to track this fruit until it moulds and sloughs off. Fancy having a walnut tree. Is it massive? Brings to mind the village smithy and his spreading chestnut.

  2. It is not a huge tree, but perhaps that is because there are so many bigger trees in this garden. I understand it is a Persian Walnut which according to my research done just now is also known as an English Walnut. Also the problems with nuts seems to be Walnut Blight which I could fix by spraying the tree through the season -- but that suddenly makes the tree seem big.
