Eyes

View from east facing bathroom window 1.

Today we have skipped across the stairwell and gone into the bathroom, which runs behind the kitchen. Look at this photo and you will see there are four windows in the bathroom which wrap around a tree. It makes the perfect hide from which to observe birds.

There were four female satin bower birds in the pittosporum. I waited for ages but they simply would not emerge enough for me to get a clear shot, so we are missing the opportunity to see her lovely blue eyes.

Reflection:
Psalm 33:18 (New International Version)
But the eyes of the LORD are on those who fear him,
on those whose hope is in his unfailing love,

  1. Now ... where was I ... was looking at these photos this morning and went back and saw the male from 2007 ... pretty impressive that these birds come into your backyard ... I would be a birde-watcher too but it would simply compound my nerdish reputation ... a bit like getting a third cat!

  2. Listening to Carmina Burana at the moment ... great piece of music ... but this version is a bit wonky in the recording in spots ...

  3. Ah ... you can't have a cat and birds. Even with bells on their collars they get awfully clever at silencing them.

  4. I used to have a cat with goldfish in an outside pond. The fish would hide under a plank as soon as they saw the shadow of the cat. And this cat did NOT like to get wet ... one day it fell in ... never seen it move so fast ... sprrrroinge!!
