Port wine

View from my office, south facing window.

The next room along the hallway is my office, which is a pleasant room with windows to the south and west. The south facing window takes in a view of the pond which is overshadowed by a port wine magnolia. In the spring it gets insignificant pinkish flowers which emit a strong 'bubble gum' perfume in the afternoon and evening. I'll be back in spring to show you the flowers.

It's a tree fern trunk you can see in front of the magnolia.

Reflection:
Ephesians 5:18 (New International Version)
Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit.

  1. Hah ... had figured that to be a tree fern trunk ... like the markings on a peacock ... love the bubble gum perfume concept.

Now to remind myself of your pond ...

  2. Reread your comment on the pond post.

Like that sense of belonging to place that comes across in your words ...
