Drought tolerant

Up in the top corner where I never water, every year the grassy looking plants pop out these lovely flowers ... they are Ixias ... someone back in the past planted the bulbs and they have kept going without any help from me for the past 16 years.

Reflection:
Jeremiah 17:7-8 (New International Version)
"But blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD,
whose confidence is in him.
He will be like a tree planted by the water
that sends out its roots by the stream.
It does not fear when heat comes;
its leaves are always green.
It has no worries in a year of drought
and never fails to bear fruit."

  1. Golly, is that how long you have lived there?

  2. Yep 16 years has just ticked over. I guess about half of that time we have also lived in the city as well treating this place as a weekender but I much prefer it being our full-time home.

    We moved lots and lots of times before settling here but when we found this place we found home.
