Stuffed full and running over

Zucchini rescued after the hailstorm. I've never done them stuffed before ... seemed like a nice idea to try with the Sunday roast.

Reflection:
Luke 6:38 (New International Version)
Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you."

  1. i'm so glad some of your produce was saved. looks
    delicious.

someone once told me that your scripture is referring
to judgement...'what goes around, comes around'.

what do you think about that?

  3. Lea, I believe Jesus is encouraging us to be generous in spirit towards others. The blessings from being kind and generous return to us in many ways right now. There is an element of "balancing the books" at the judgement ...but giving to others and showing compassion because of the grace we have received through Jesus is the primary thrust.

  4. I often read that passage as meaning that one does not have to return the kindness to those specifically who gave to us. But that the next act of kindness, is an on-giving of the previous. Hence, the world is a full circle and what goes around comes around. But I am totally an uninformed non-believer in the Christian faith, or any faith.

Now on to things stuffed ... this looks delicious. Is that smoked salmon in there with the corn? I have stuffed mushrooms (the large field ones) and they are delicious.
