Silent

The pond makes me sad,
All I hear is silence.
The clogged pump no
longer fills the top pool
where the birds flapped and bathed.
The little pool no longer
spills with a rattle into the
pond where the waterlily grew
and fish danced under the
water fall. I wonder
does the last lonely
fish still slip silently
through the curtain of weed.

Reflection:
Isaiah 53:6-7 (New International Version)
We all, like sheep, have gone astray,
each of us has turned to his own way;
and the LORD has laid on him
the iniquity of us all.
He was oppressed and afflicted,
yet he did not open his mouth;
he was led like a lamb to the slaughter,
and as a sheep before her shearers is silent,
so he did not open his mouth.

  1. Sheep aren't silent, even when the shearer ignominiously throws them on their back!

    But then again, sheep are pretty dumb!

    As for the pond, there was an old Harry Belefonte number ... "then clean it, dear henry, dear henry, dear henry, then clean it dear henry, dear henry, CLEAN IT!"

  2. But there's a hole in the bucket dear Henry dear Henry ... or was that a pain in the back or was that the water is too cold and the sun isn't shining or I've got too much else to do ... we'll get their one day and I'll show you it in all it's glory ... just be patient.
