Peace in toil

I love my begonias.

I can hear the hum of
the commuter train
leaving the station.
White butterflies dance
in the sunlight.
Cockatoos cruise
across blue sky.
My world is busy
and at peace.

Reflection:
Ecclesiastes 5:18 (New International Version)
Then I realized that it is good and proper for a man to eat and drink, and to find satisfaction in his toilsome labor under the sun during the few days of life God has given him—for this is his lot.

  3. mmm ... there is a deeper challenge in this though ... what happens when the white flutterbys lay eggs on your begonia leaves, they gestate into green caterpillars and strip the leaves bare.

Same but different with the white cockies ...

  4. Julie, those challenges are pretty much addressed by having a big garden... there is room for us all.
