Cut down

It was once a Sugar Maple that stood tall and its big shady canopy went glorious golden in the autumn but for the past several years it has struggled to put out any leaves. This week with a few cuts of the chainsaw it met with an end.

Reflection:
Psalm 83: 10-11 (The Message)
Cut down their leaders as you did Oreb and Zeeb,
their princes to nothings like Zebah and Zalmunna,
With their empty brags, “We’re grabbing it all,
grabbing God’s gardens for ourselves.”

Participating in Psalm Challenge #83 hosted by Robert.

  2. How impressive your ability to find each week a well fitting image for a Psalm inside a garden ! Yes, sweet years are probably not for ever.
Thank you very much for your kind effort and participation. Please have a good new week ahead.

    1. I too am amazed, I am never sure what I will be showing until I sit down in Saturday night and see what has been happening in the garden and read the Psalm carefully.

I get a real thrill to see how often there is inspiration sitting there when I match up the two.
