Winter's waining

This week the wind turned on a chilly August blast.  I was glad to be snug in inside when I saw the cold moon rising against the sunset pink.  Winter is still here but those branches are swelling with the hope of Spring.

Reflection:
Psalm 116:5 New International Version (NIV)
"The Lord is gracious and righteous;
our God is full of compassion."

  1. One can almost feel the chill in those branches. What comfort in the words of the Psalm you have shared.

  2. It's surprising how such an awful windy night as laat Friday could lead to such calm sunny days as this past weekend was.
