Winter's waining

This week the wind turned on a chilly August blast.  I was glad to be snug in inside when I saw the cold moon rising against the sunset pink.  Winter is still here but those branches are swelling with the hope of Spring.

Reflection:
Psalm 116:5 New International Version (NIV)
"The Lord is gracious and righteous;
our God is full of compassion."

Flourishing

Somewhere far up north I thought of home and said when we get back the daffodils will be in flower.  I was pleased to find them there nodding welcome when we returned.

Reflection:
Psalm 115:14-15 New International Version (NIV)
"May the Lord cause you to flourish,
both you and your children.
May you be blessed by the Lord,
the Maker of heaven and earth."

Stirring

We are back from our long journey north and back in time to see the first stirring of spring.

Reflection:
Psalm 114:7 New International Version (NIV)
"Tremble, earth, at the presence of the Lord,
at the presence of the God of Jacob."
