Wings

One of the delights of the garden are the ever present birds.  At this time of year the King Parrots especially like feasting on the seeds on the maple trees so we see them in bigger numbers.

Reflection:
Psalm 139: 9-10 New International Version
"If I rise on the wings of the dawn,
if I settle on the far side of the sea,
even there your hand will guide me,
your right hand will hold me fast."

  1. I still marvel at your bird photos!
All I ever get is blurs or pin-pricks in the distance.

    1. Lettie, the birds are in the trees that are right up against the house so I am mere metres away from them. Whenever I try to photograph birds out at the block I have the same problems as you have.

    1. Lea, this is fascinating. King Parrots are an Australian native bird. There are also varieties in PNG and Indonesia. They are not migratory so for them to be in Florida someone took them there sometime in the past. Florida would certainly be a place they would enjoy. I had no idea they were living in the wild outside Australia.

We find they are very forward and friendly. Out at our block they visit us a meal times, as if they enjoy our company.
