Strength and Peace

Today's photo is a borrowed view looking over the fence into the neighbour's garden. My magnolias have disappointed me by not flowering again this year.

Reflection:
Psalm 29:11New International Version (NIV)
"The Lord gives strength to his people;
the Lord blesses his people with peace."

  1. Oh no. I have given up on them here, last one was eaten by cockatoos.

    1. Oh dear. The cockatoos mostly stick to hurling down cones and twigs from the pine trees here, though a friend at church said they snip off the top of her daffodils ... I would be very upset it they did that!

  2. They are a lovely flower. I am too far north to have them here.

    1. I like them too now but thought them quite odd at first ... such big bold flowers on bare branches.

    1. I suspect it is suffering from root competition from the pine trees and also doesn't get enough water. The gardener who planted it painted a vision of it arching over the drive way but even after a year conceded it was never going to do that and recommended moving it.
