Standing tall

The Acanthus is looking good right now with their tall flower spikes.  Soon their leaves will die down for the summer.

Reflection:
Psalm 41:12The Message (MSG)
"You know me inside and out, you hold me together
you never fail to stand me tall in your presence
so I can look you in the eye."

  1. Are they known as the oyster plant? I have a garden to build in the backyard under some big trees, I think I see some Acanthus in my future.

    1. Yes the are known as oyster plant and bears breeches. They are perfect for under big trees and seem to be just about indestructible. They were in the garden when I arrived and continued on fine growing into an ever bigger clump despite whatever neglect I have inflicted on them. Their only draw back is that the leaves die off and they disappear for a number of months so not so good if you are wanting a permanent green wherever you plant them.
