We're ready for the winter hibernation.

Matthew 24:44 (New International Version)
"So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him."

  1. How much wood is there? I hope you buy this in rather than having to split it yourself/hisself.

How long would this lot last?

What do you call a lot of wood like this: not a ream. But there is a word ...

  2. Bought split ... which is lucky because hisself was cuting some smaller for the pot-belly stove in his office and was complaining that this load is very hard ... which explains why it's burning so nice, long and warm.

It would last maybe a couple of months depending on weather and whether we use the central heating instead. I'm not sure because I let hisself worry about the wood supply.

In the US and Canada they talk of cords of wood. But here we just buy it by the square metre. Hisself buys 2-3 metres at a time I think. I'm always hiding when the wood arrives otherwise I might be coorced into stacking it!!
