This week I am going to do a round of the garden showing you what's happening this week.  I just love these grevillias because they flower ... not every plant does as I plan.

Proverbs 19:20-21 (New International Version)
Listen to advice and accept instruction,
and in the end you will be wise.
Many are the plans in a man's heart,
but it is the LORD's purpose that prevails.

  1. Simply splendid!
Your photo does justice indeed to such a complex and beautiful plant.

I love to taste the nectar from my grevilleas (it first happened accidentally, I was 'thwacked' in the face as I was squeezing past a tree once).

  2. such an unusual flower ... so much intricacy

  3. I like grevilleas ... I like their structure ...

  4. They are a wonderful plant. I like the contrasting yellow tips against the pink in this specimen.

  5. Wow! You captured the water droplets on that flower perfectly! Your eye for photography never ceases to amaze me. Carla

  6. Susan, I remember as a kid being told people got honey from the nectar of silky oak trees (which are a giant grevillia). We checked it out and decided it was not too our taste ... have not attempted it again.

Susan E, many of Australia's native flowers are rather spikey and odd. That's why we Aussies like them.

Carla, thanks. I am often amazed at how beautifully the photos come out, when all I do is point the camera in the right direction.

  7. another winner ..your colors so true ..each bloom so unique ..have a lovely weekend
