In all places

The virginia creeper has been creeping even more aggressively this year.  Over the next month it will be getting ready to turn red. Reflection: I am with thee and will keep the in all places though goest.  Gen 28:15 Trusting as the moments fly Trusting as the days go by Trusting him whate'er befall Trusting Jesus that is all

Ain't love grand - part 2

Remember the pig I posted on Valentine's Day . This year a new gift arrived about that time ... meet Talbot my ride-on mower.    It seems my beloved has taken pity on me getting hot and bothered doing the mowing. And with Clandulla that task has quadrupled. Reflection: "The Lord shall open unto thee His good treasure."  Deut 28:12

The screech of Black Cockatoos becomes familiar at this time of year.  They love to feast on the pine cones.   I also think of my Dad at this time of year.  He loved Bunya nuts. Bunyas are a native pine local to the area where we lived. They fruit in February with giant pine cones  that contain large pine nuts .  I think the nuts taste dry and awful but Dad loved them boiled in the corned meat water. Reflection: Wherefore come out from among them ... I will receive you and become a Father unto you" 2 Cor 6:17-18

There is the whisper of the change of season in the air.  Ginger flowers coming out.  Misty rain. And crisp new apples in the supermarket. Reflection: "It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the Lord."  Lam. 3:26

Ain't love grand

We've never bothered with Valentine's Day.  It wasn't done much in our youth and really only seems to have caught on in recent years. However some 30 years ago my husband was really keen to buy this art object.  I thought it was ugly. We had reached an impasse.  So for the first and only time time he decided to buy me a Valentine's Day gift.  How could I not love him for it and learn to love the pig which he says is an alligator. Reflection: "Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 8:39

Making things

Using things from the pantry to make chocolate fudge. Reflection: "All things are yours ... tbings present and things to come, all are yours and ye are Christ's" 1Cor 3:21-23

These summer berries are a hint that Autumn is not too far away - the change of seasons is as certain as night following day. This is good news to our northern hemisphere friends looking forward to the spring thaw and the battered people to our north anxious for the cyclone season to pass. Reflection : I will deliver thee ... because thou hast put thy trust in me, saith the Lord." Jer 39: 17,18 When darkness seems to veil his face I rest on his unchanging grace.

Old fence, new fence

The neighbour is getting the fence redone.  Among other things this meant the big pile of garden waste that I had piled up against it had to be removed. A great excuse to take it to the dump which I've been meaning to do for a couple of years! Fortunately it was not very hot on Saturday in comparison to the past couple of days, and they say its going to be steamy all week. Reflection : "Thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance."  Ps 33:7 Song and Strength, O Lord, art Thou, Strength and Song forever Strength that never can decay, Song that ceaseth never.
