An immigrant

There were a pair of Red-wiskered Bulbuls in the cherry tree this week.

Bulbuls are native to China, introduced to Sydney in the 1880s.  They have settled in well with the locals.

This little bird had me thinking of the immigrants and refugees we welcome into this country, how they settle in and enrich our lives.  May we be kind and welcoming to those fleeing other countries and seeking shelter in our land.

Psalm 82:3-4 New International Version (NIV)
Defend the weak and the fatherless;
uphold the cause of the poor and the oppressed.
Rescue the weak and the needy;
deliver them from the hand of the wicked.
