Was walking around the garden this afternoon and spotted this honeysuckle twined in the Viburnum, such a pretty plant but too vigorous so a weed. The bush fires have abated.  During the week when things reached a fever pitch because of the high winds I figured I had better get out and sweep the leaves and make sure the hoses were in good order.  Lucky there was no fire close by because I found hoses buried underneath a carpet of entwining creepers, took me quite a while to clip them free. Reflection: Psalm 125:2 New International Version (NIV) "As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the Lord surrounds his people both now and forevermore.

Fire not snow

The snowball flowers were out recently but nothing is lasting for long this spring.  It is extremely dry with dry winds blowing strongly causing bush fires to rage in the mountains.  For those who have been concerned, at the moment our town is not near the menace that has already burnt hundreds of homes. We hope and pray for better conditions to stem the blaze. Reflection: Psalm 124:8 New International Version (NIV) "Our help is in the name of the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth."

An attentive hand

I just had to show you this.  The photo looks quite lovely with the forget me nots in the foreground and seaside daisies growing wild in the background and maples in fresh spring leaf.  But look at the weedy path and all the grass in the garden bed.  It's really quite a mess and needs an attentive hand ... but I love it anyway. Reflection: Psalm 123 The Message (MSG) "I look to you, heaven-dwelling God, look up to you for help. Like servants, alert to their master’s commands, like a maiden attending her lady, We’re watching and waiting, holding our breath, awaiting your word of mercy.

We've recently had the roof of our house painted.  It's nice as before it was a mixture of brown peeling paint and unpainted. Reflection: Psalm 122:1 New International Version (NIV) I rejoiced with those who said to me, “Let us go to the house of the Lord.”
