Going bad

Autumn is now swinging in.  The warmth is fading quickly so it is back to lugging logs for the fire. Reflection: Psalm 10 New International Version (NIV) "In his arrogance the wicked man hunts down the weak, who are caught in the schemes he devises. ... But you, God, see the trouble of the afflicted; you consider their grief and take it in hand." I realised today I was due to post Psalm 150 which would bring me to the end.  But I have not posted Psalm 10 though 42 so I am going to go back there and will save up Psalm 150 until we reach the very end.

He is risen

At this time of year begonias rise up from unpromising dead looking tubers to create something of great beauty. "But in fact Christ has been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. For as by a man came death, by a man has come also the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive." 1 Corinthians 15:20-22 ESV I pray that each of you will be blessed this Easter day. Reflection: Psalm 149:4 English Standard Version (ESV) "For the Lord takes pleasure in his people; he adorns the humble with salvation."

April showers

The showery weather is continuing with the old spot of sunshine.  But isn't this shower of pink over the neighbours fence just lovely. I am not quite so keen on the shower of pine cones that are currently dusting everything in yellow pollen before falling splat to the path below releasing another puff of yellow dust.  The verandah is covered in it.  But the rain is making the moss grow again, that's nice. Reflection: Psalm 148:1-5 The Message (MSG) "Hallelujah! Praise God from heaven, praise him from the mountaintops; Praise him, all you his angels, praise him, all you his warriors, Praise him, sun and moon, praise him, you morning stars; Praise him, high heaven, praise him, heavenly rain clouds; Praise, oh let them praise the name of God— he spoke the word, and there they were!"

This little corner of our garden is like having our own rainforest with magnificent old tree-ferns and small ferns growing in the leaf litter below.  And it's still raining, doesn't seem to know its time for it to stop and let autumn get underway. Reflection: Psalm 147:7-11 The Message "Sing to God a thanksgiving hymn, play music on your instruments to God, Who fills the sky with clouds, preparing rain for the earth, Then turning the mountains green with grass, feeding both cattle and crows. He’s not impressed with horsepower; the size of our muscles means little to him. Those who fear God get God’s attention; they can depend on his strength."
